Study of Sealing Mechanism of Magneto-rheological Torque Converter

In the magneto-rheological torque converter,based on the good characteristics of magneto rheological fluid,a new non-contact sealing mechanism is developed.Electromagnetic finite element analysis is utilized to simulate and analyze the magnetic circuit,and the formula of seal pressure is presented.It shows that as compared with traditional sealing mechanism,this magneto-rheological fluid sealing arrangement has its significant advantages of higher reliability,longer interval time of breakdown maintenance,lower friction and higher efficiency.
