The Knowledge Representation and Reuse in Product Design

The application of KBE(Knowledge Based Engineering) technology in product design was studied.The design knowledge of product is classified according to its forms.The oriented-object method is employed to express the whole parameter of product,independent parameter of parts,design experience,facts and rules.The frame structure is adopted to represent the configuration of product structure tree.The design knowledge is stored in the model library,database and rule library.The existed KF(Knowledge Fusion) classes are loaded into the product models.At the same time,new design requirements and constraints drive the product design through applying the design knowledge.Finally,a case study of an observation lift was provided for validating the reuse of the design knowledge.
