RISK ASSESSMENT IN A FUEL DISTRIBUTION PROCESS

Customer service is the important part of the business processes in an industry. The product accuracy and exactness, both in terms of volume and quality is very important in delivering the products to customer. Customer service should lead to service quality and customer satisfaction. Fuel is one commodity that is in dispensable in the daily life of the community. PT. Pertamina (Persero) launched PASTI PAS! Program to assure costumers that the costumers will re-ceive the fuel in the exact volume and quality. Distribution becomes an important aspect in ensuring the success of this program. The length of distribution path raises the probability of operational risks existence in each process. At the end, unmanaged risks will impact on the company services and profitability. Moreover, many parties, not only PT. Per-tamina (Persero) itself, are involved in this business process and it lead to more complex in managing the risks. This research focuses on risk assessment of the fuel distribution on the installation point of PT. Pertamina (Persero) at Pe-rak, West Surabaya. In the developing of risk assessment, this research employs RISQUE method framework. The risks assessment framework starts with risk identification in the business process of fuel distribution network and construct-ing risk profile to identify the critical risks. Based on the risk profile, Value At Risk (VAR) method and Monte Carlo simulation are adopted to analyze the potential financial losses earned by the company. This research contributes to the risk assessment of fuel distribution in PT. Pertamina (Persero). Having a structure framework of risk assessment will benefit the company to prevent the risk occur, and at the end will prevent company from suffering technical failure and financial losses.
