Research Activities of the Power Electronics Research Centre with Special Focus on Wide Band Gap Materials

Research activities of Power Electronics Research Centre (PERC) are described with special focus on wide band gap materials. They are 1) PERC experience overview, 2) concurrent research activities in PERC and 3) works for the future. Concerning to works on SiC wafer, high quality crystal growth and epitaxial growth on C-face is described. In the progress of devices, superiority of buried MOSFET and SIT is described. Circuit design platform concept is reported as design method for a future integrated power converter operated by wide band gap power devices. Finally works for the future activity are briefly mentioned.
