Vibration Modes for Nonrigid Motion Analysis in 3D Images

We concentrate on nonrigid motion analysis in 3D images using modal dynamics. Borrowing the solid state physics formulation, we develop the equations of motion and the analytical expression of vibration modes of a multidimensional elastically-deformable model. Thus, nonrigid motion of a 3D deformable object can be recovered in closed-form in real time. The power of the approach is demonstrated by a set of experimental results on 3D medical data.
