Recent Trend of Information Design and Information Visualization Studying from Web Navigation Techniques

Visual technologies are very effective for adequately and friendly providing information required by users, from huge information in our daily life and work. It is necessary to discuss about visual technologies in the view of both human sense and automated technologies using computers. Information design and information visualization, are typical technologies to visually provide information. Former provides information represented by humans, and latter provides information represented automatically by computers. Web is a typical technology area that requires visual technologies to provide information. This paper introduces information design and information visualization technologies applied to Web navigation, and then discusses about their recent trends and future directions reflecting the introduced Web navigation technologies. Keyword: Information design, information visualization, Web navigation.
