Performance and Loads Data from a Wind Tunnel Test of a Full-Scale Rotor with Four Blade Tip Planforms

Abstract : A full-scale helicopter rotor was tested in the Ames 40- by 80-Foot Wind Tunnel to measure the performance, loads, and noise characteristics of rotors with various tip geometries. Four blade tip planforms were investigated: rectangular, tapered, swept, and swept/tapered. This report presents in tables and plots the performance and loads data obtained from that test.
