In this paper the development in numerical simulation of sheet metal forming home and abroad is introduced, based on key algorithm?mesh type and element model?materials model?contact and friction problem?wrinkle analysis?cracking criterion and springback calculation, the basic principle of FEM?the key technologies and the main difficulties is discussed, in the end of the paper combined with the case and the troubles of application in industry, the predictable developing trend about this technology is described.
