Ultra-wide bandwidth signal propagation for indoor wireless communications

An ultra-wide bandwidth (UWB) signal propagation experiment is performed in a typical modern office building in order to characterize the UWB signal propagation channel. The bandwidth of the signal used in this experiment is in excess of one GHz. The robustness of the WVB signal to fades is quantified through histogram and cumulative distribution of the received energy in various locations of the building. The results show that UWB signal does not suffer fades.
