Selecting an approach to project time and cost planning

Abstract A portfolio of methods for project planning is outlined and related to two approaches to project management. The focus of the discussion is the need to treat uncertainty and risk at different levels of modelling complexity. The need for methods that are tailored to the circumstances is emphasized, no single approach being best in all circumstances.
