Power losses simulation in practical zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converters

The theoretical DC-voltage characteristics of zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converters (ZVS-QRCs), calculated analytically in previously published works are based on the assumption of ideal converter elements. Nevertheless measurements on experimental basic topologies (buck and boost ZVS-QRC) demonstrate an important disagreement between theoretical and real results. The aim of this paper is to estimate the power losses at each converter component and to investigate the reasons that cause this discrepancy.
