Nephrotic Syndrome in the Cat Due to Diffuse Membranous Glomerulonephritis

&NA; A case is reported of the nephrotic syndrome in a cat, due to diffuse membranous glomerulonephritis. The cat was presented with oedema of the hind limbs. There were proteinuria, hypoproteinaemia and hypercholesterolaemia. These findings are considered to fulfil the criteria of the nephrotic syndrome. The histological changes in the kidneys were identical with those of diffuse membranous glomerulonephritis in man as all renal glomeruli showed diffuse thickening of the basement membrane.
