Sinusoidally modulated heat flow and the pyroelectric effect

Abstract Expressions describing the temperature oscillations as a function of position are derived for one-dimensional multilayer structures. The heat flow is assumed to be sinusoidally modulated, and the treatment includes heat transfer by radiation. The form of the solution is such that it is readily integrated to give the signal voltage and current from a pyroelectric detector mounted on substrates of given thermal properties.
