Densities and viscosities of aqueous solutions of 1-propanol and 2-propanol at temperatures from 293.15 K to 333.15 K

Abstract Densities and viscosities of the binary aqueous solutions of 1-propanol and 2-propanol have been measured over the whole composition range at temperatures between 293.15 K and 333.15 K. The energies of activation for viscous flow for aqueous solutions of 1-propanol and 2-propanol were calculated and found to be 17.94 and 22.16 kJ mol− 1, respectively. A polynomial equation and an equation based on the Power Law and Erying's absolute rate theory were used to correlate the viscosity data of the aqueous solutions of 1-propanol and 2-propanol. The average absolute deviations (AAD) for density correlations of aqueous solutions of 1-propanol and 2-propanol are less than 0.07%.
