Crash analysis of electric vehicle charging spot based on ANSYS

The crash response of the electric vehicle AC charging spot was analyzed due to different hit conditions.The FE model of the charging spot truss was firstly set up.Then the crash responses of the charging spot under different truss steel thicknesses,different bumper highnesses,different bumper-ground distances and different vehicle velocities were investigated,with the maximum stress and the max deformation obtained.The study shows that the max stress and the max deformation can be reduced as the truss steel thickness is increased,while the result will be opposite as the bumper height,the ground-bumper distance,or the vehicle velocity is increased.Besides,linear relation is shown between the max stress deformation and the bumper height vehicle velocity.The achievements are of reference value for the crash study and improvement of the charging spots.
