Linear Pre-Equalization Techniques for Short Reach Single Lambda 225 Gb/s PAM IMDD Systems

We experimentally demonstrate and compare three linear pre-equalization techniques for short-reach IMDD 225 Gb/s PAM-6 and PAM-8 systems and reveal important implementation rules regarding the trade-off between bit error rate performance and DAC amplitude swing requirement.
