Among numerous web community services available today, online community system such as bulletin board system enables people to communicate each other through the Internet without sharing time and real space. In avatar systems, on the other hand, people share virtual space using their embodied representatives, and at the same time are able to have real time communication by using of the embedded chat system. While asynchronous communication in bulletin board systems mainly consists of words or at the most with graphics, various gestures and spatial context can be used in avatar systems.
