MICROPROCESSOR ADAPTIVE CONTROL FOR VEHICLE SEMI-ACTIVE SUSPENSION DAMPING

In this paper, a microprocessor controlled system of vehicle semi- active suspension damping is presented based upon the adaptive control theory. The mathematical model, actuator and sensor of the control system are discussed in some detail. A two DOF (degrees of freedom) suspension control device was completed and tested and also computer simulations of the vehicle suspension vibration characteristics were carried out. The results of the experiments and computations show that the designed control system is realizable and can improve the vibration characteristics and the comfort performance of the vehicles.
