Next Generation Optical Internetworking Technology Based on Optical Burst Switching

The architecture of the next-generation optical internetwork has been proposed. Some key issues have been discussed, such as the optical burst format, the assembly mechanisms, the building of switching nodes, the resource reservation protocol and the data channel scheduling algorithm. Finally, the future research direction of the next generation optical internetwork has been also pointed out.
