A New Method to Generate Square Pulses: Optoelectronic Switching in a Current Charged Transmission Line

We demonstrated for the first time the operation of a new technique to generate square pulses of nanosecond duration at a 10-Hz repetition rate. This technique utilizes a current charged transmission line as an inductive storage element and a repetitive optoelectronic opening switch.
