Concurrent engineering

Various issues concerning the implementation of concurrent engineering are addressed. It is suggested that, as concurrent engineering becomes widely implemented, industry will find that new approaches are needed for remaining competitive in the marketplace, which is constantly changing and evolving. Industry will find that improving the infrastructure is the next major challenge. Improvement is essential to support the development of robust frameworks which can communicate information accurately and rapidly, even in the face of constantly changing tools, configurations of tools, models and model libraries, modeling and algorithmic methods and abstractions, techniques, costs, and market windows. It is also noted that there is a need to implement continuous and incremental validation processes for products, processes, and computer infrastructure.<<ETX>>
