A novel approach to detection of closely spaced sinusoids

Abstract A novel method for the detection of closely spaced sinusoids is proposed. It is based on the notch periodogram and a simple detection criterion. Compared with other well-known approaches, this method is not as sensitive to the accuracy of the estimated signal parameters, and it can be implemented with a low computational load. Simulation results of the approach are included, and they show excellent performance.
