Analysis of Point-to-Point versus Hub-and-Spoke airline networks

The article deals with the issue of networking of air carriers. It compares two basic Point-to-Point and Hub-and-Spoke types. It presents their characteristics, describes their pros and cons, networking methodology, calculation of network coverage and provides a graphical representation. It focuses primarily on the operational and economic aspects of both models. The Point-to-Point system is currently applied by low-cost carries and the Hub-and-Spoke model of full-service carries.
