Discrimination between bad tuning and non-linearity induced oscillations through bispectral analysis

Oscillations are a common type of plant-wide disturbance. A bispectrum is found to have the capability of distinguishing between an oscillation caused hy had tuning and an oscillation caused by non-linearity in a control loop. The method is demonstrated on both simulated data and real industrial data
