The research on the design of filter banks in filtered multitone modulation

A new multicarrier modulation technique called filtered multitone (FMT) is described; it uses filter banks to get a high level of subchannel spectral containment to eliminate interchannel interference (ICI). An efficient implementation of the FMT system is derived by a network of polyphase filters. The signal processing technique and the FMT matrix notation especially are analyzed. The main performance indices and the design methods of the prototype filter are proposed. The performances of prototype filters which are applied to the FMT system in the wireless channel are studied.
