Installation tool and installation method of electric connector

The invention discloses an installation tool including a main body portion, a holding head, and a power rod. The power rod has a base end extending from the rear end of the main body portion and a top end extending from the front end of the main body portion. The installation tool further comprises a knocking tool adapted to knock the base end of the power rod to apply impact force to the power rod, and the top end of the power rod pushes a first workpiece forward under the effect of impact force to enforce the first workpiece to be embedded into the assembling hole of a second workpiece. According to the invention, the impact force required for installation can be provided by manually knocking the power rod, and therefore, compared with the installation tool providing the impact force by explosives, the installation tool provided is simple in structure, simple in operation, and safe in use.
