Local Yield Detection of Grass in a Mower Conditioner

Based on a windrowing device of a mower conditioner tests were carried out for developing a yield monitoring system for grass. The torque requirement of the wind rowing device and the pressure drop at the hydraulic motor which drives the windrowing device were employed for determining the masses of grass. Under laboratory conditions both methods achieved a high accuracy. In the field the deviations from the actual grass mass were higher.
