A comparative evaluation of partial discharge inception voltage of power transformer liquids

Partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) tests on different oils used in power transformers were carried out using a multichannel analyzer (MCA). The results are presented in terms of the partial discharge amplitude distributions from which it is possible to evaluate the PDIV for any intensity threshold. A more sensitive, comparative evaluation of the partial discharge behavior of different transformer oils is therefore possible.<<ETX>>
