Speech denoising using perceptual modification of Wiener filtering

A speech denoising technique based on a new perceptual modification of generalised Wiener filtering is proposed. Noisy speech is decomposed using a filterbank and auditory masking is applied to calculate the optimum denoising gains, to minimise the perceived speech distortion. The inherent novelty of this technique is contained in the calculation of these gains.
