Design of optical path networks employing large-capacity WSS/WBSS-combined optical cross-connects

We propose a network design algorithm that can make the best use of the newly developed WSS/WBSS-combined OXC architecture for the creation of cost-effective large capacity optical networks. Simulation results verify that a significant overall network cost reduction can be obtained by applying our proposed network design algorithm and the developed OXC architecture.
