A multicast-liked lightweight solution for mobile SCTP-based IP mobility

Location management and handover management are two key issues of IP mobility. The mobile SCTP (mSCTP) provides seamless handover management. The main issue of the mSCTP-based IP mobility is location management. The existing mSCTP-based solutions are heavyweight, they all depend on third party protocols and facilities to realize heavyweight location management. In this paper, we propose a novel lightweight mSCTP-based IP mobility solution-Ms/spl I.bar/MLQ which does not depend on third party protocols and facilities, MS/spl I.bar/MLQ uses a novel simple multicast-liked location query method-M/spl I.bar/LQ to realize lightweight location management.
