Block length effect of decision-aided maximum likelihood phase estimation in coherent optical communication systems

We extend our decision-aided maximum likelihood phase estimation receiver for various coherent phase-modulated optical systems with laser phase noise, and investigate the optimal memory length by using extensive Monte-Carlo simulations.
