Method for providing poi information for mobile terminal and apparatus thereof

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for providing POI(Point Of Interest) information for a mobile terminal are provided to record and indicate POI information based on the position information and photographing direction information included in an image captured by a camera. CONSTITUTION: Information on position and direction of photographing is read out from a digital image(S11). POI information corresponding to the read-out information is extracted from map data(S12). The extracted POI information is indicated on the digital image(S15). POI information corresponding to information on the direction and angle of photographing and the altitude of photographing position is extracted from a map data. The extracted POI information is matched and recorded in the digital image.
