Machine Translation Oriented Understanding and Synthesis of Chinese Sign Language

Research of automatic translation between natural language and visual language is of practical significance and academic significance in current society. In this paper, from the viewpoint of machine translation, the similarities and differences between Chinese and Chinese Sign Language are investigated, and the features of word order, sentence structure, phrase structure and special syntactic category in both languages are discussed. A series of rules of translation from Chinese into Chinese Sign Language are created. On the basis of analyzing the differences and similarities of both languages completely, rule explanation algorithm is adopted and realized. A system that translates from Chinese into visual language Chinese Sign Language is implemented.
