Subchannel Power Control for MC-CDMA System Using Fuzzy PI control Algorithm

This paper is based on the extension of an application of SIR based power controller originally proposed DS-CDMA system using fuzzy logic PI control algorithm, to MC-CDMA system. Instead of controlling the power of each of subcarrier, this algorithm assigns the same level power to a band of subcarriers allocated to each user. The proposed power control mechanism can be applied for MC-CDMA system in an uplink transmission. The Fuzzy logic power controller results in increased system capacity with considerable reduction in the BER. This study also analyses the channel tracking ability by investigating the standard deviation of power control error as a function of channel fading rate.
