Modelling displacement correlations in computer simulations of particle-solid collisions

Abstract A linear transformation method of modelling equal-time displacement correlations in computer simulations of ion-lattice interactions is presented. Test examples for the one-dimensional atomic string and the three-dimensional lattice cases are discussed with practical considerations for applications to physical systems emphasized.
