Manage E-Business Work

So far you have constructed the E-Business plan, started the activities, and managed the resources. All of these things are important, but the bottom line is the work in the E-Business effort-how to set up for work, perform the work, improve the work, and evaluate the results. As a leader, you want to be able to evaluate the work and improve the work wherever possible. When evaluating work, many E-Business leaders immediately consider the most routine, common work performed in E-Business. Experience shows, however, that problems are more likely to occur in areas of exceptions, rework, workarounds, and nonrecurring work. Mistakes are more likely to be made in these areas. These are the areas where people are not familiar with the tasks. In E-Business, setting up the new processes is one area of risk; another is handling changed requirements. Estimates of resources required and the schedule are likely to run into trouble here as well.
