MIND THE GAP: PITFALLS OF TRAVEL REDUCTION MEASURES

Deciding to embark upon a travel reduction policy is only the start of a process. The path to realization of policies is not necessarily straightforward, as there may be a gap between policy intentions and behavioural outcomes, and there may be barriers which affect implementation. From consideration of a series of case studies it is possible to identify the nature of potential pitfalls and barriers. Awareness of these can assist in better policy making. (A)
