P347 1 Gravity modelling based on small cells Abstract We present a gravity modelling method that is based on small cells. This method permits in contrast to classical polygon based modelling algorithms the computation of gravity anomalies over densely sampled density models. We demonstrate how boundary effects in the calculation caused by the finite extend of the model may be avoided through efficient edge padding. The examples show the calculation of gravity responses for a 2-D seismic profile and a 3-D data volume that were converted into depth-density models.
