Virtual Sink Algorithm for Receiver Based Forwarding in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we propose a virtual sink (VS) algorithm to controllably allow the packet duplication in receiver based forwarding technique, which can trade packet delivery ratio with energy saving or vice versa. Through simulations, we show that our VS algorithm is highly useful in applying the simplified RBF approach for wireless sensor networks.
