Opportunities of innovation under challenges of big data

Currently, in the age of big data, data growth features are delineated as being four-dimensional: huge amounts of data, wide ranging data types, sparse density of data values, and data increasing at a fast rate. All of these four divisions will challenge the data set with aspects of data capture, storage, management, analysis and visualization. Furthermore, big data also provides opportunities in companies as they address the challenges of data storage costs, efficiency of data management, and data security. This paper begins with an introduction to big data and innovation, as well as the challenges of big data. Beyond this, opportunities for innovation are described in detail and viewed from the perspective of technologies, i.e., MapReduce, Information Integration, Data Visualization and Personalized Recommendations.
