Computer Assisted School Administration in Hong Kong

AbstractFollowing the same pattern as the other articles on computer-assisted school administration (CASA) in specific countries in this special issue of the Journal of Research on Computing in Education, this article starts with a brief introduction of the Hong Kong educational system. The developmental stages of CASA in Hong Kong are then discussed, followed by a report of a recent survey on the available applications and their degree of use in Hong Kong secondary schools. Subsequently, the framework with five variable blocks given in Figure 2 of the lead article in this issue is used to analyse the Hong Kong CASA situation. In the final section, the problems and future of CASA in Hong Kong are discussed, with recommendations for a series of planned activities.
