Estimating the Doppler spectrum of a short-range fixed wireless channel

Time variations of fixed wireless channels result from the relative movements of scatterers in the propagating environment. We consider the temporal gain variations of short-range channels due to scattering from wind-blown leaves. In particular, we present a method for estimating the Doppler spectrum from the received signal's power samples, without requiring the phase information. We then apply the method to the results of measurements we recently conducted on fixed, short-range paths.
