FIT Student UAV Team Project

n its simplest form, the Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) or Unmanned Air System (UAS), is a pilotless plane. It is a small aircraft, with an on-board computer, or, microprocessor, together with control, sensor and communication electronics. There are both remote controlled UAVs and Autonomous UAV which depend on their onboard computer for all flight calculations. The purpose of this project is to construct and fly a student designed UAV within a single semester of work. The UAV will contain a variable payload ranging from onboard-data storage cameras to model missile and laser tag systems depending on mission requirements. The use of a multifunctional payload bay will be key to creating a UAV that can be used by future students or faculty to jump test experiments at low costs. I
