Objectives: The goal of this paper was to review color measuring instruments in dentistry. Methods: Literature review, 'Medline' database for the period 2000 to the present day, and the information provided by manufacturers. Conclusions: Different types of color measuring instruments used in dentistry were described. Color measuring instruments can help dental professionals in achieving enhanced esthetic outcome thus increasing patient satisfaction.
