Conventional Compression Techniques for Medical Images

This chapter covers various conventional lossy compression techniques for medical images. These techniques are implemented using various image transforms such as DCT, DWT, SVD, and hybridization of it. The chapter gives a performance analysis of these techniques using various evaluation parameters such as RMSE, PSNR, and CR and various similarity index measures.
