An Uneven Cluster-Based Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, a novel Uneven Cirque energy-balance Clustering Routing for sensor networks (UCCR) was proposed. UCCR import energy forecasting mechanism, according to the residual energy of node to determine when to re-cluster. Cluster head is chosen based on the residual energy and the relative position. Multi-hop data routing was formed in inter-cluster, routing to build not only consider the energy consumption of nodes send data, but also takes care of forward nodes to receive energy consumption, the distance of the data sentting directly is limited to within the threshold at the same time minimizing the number of data transfer. And at the stage of stable transmission each cluster head using dynamic routing to avoid the relay node rapid death due to excessive energy consumption. The simulations show that the new protocol proposed in this paper can effectively reduce network energy consumption, better balance the energy consumption of network nodes, significantly extending the network life cycle.
