Regulatory issues and Innovation aspects of Network Composition and Commercial Use Cases in Ambient Networks

This paper will present the Ambient Networking concepts for future mobile communication and discuss possible innovations from three perspectives New ways to communicate between business entities Decoupling of business roles of vertically integrated value chain. Possible changes of the regulatory framework The network composition concept will enable networks and providers to co-operate in new ways In the paper the following aspects are discussed: advertising of offers, evaluation of offers, selection of service and provider and negotiation of composition agreements. New business roles and ways to co-operate are analyzed using commercial use cases. Regulatory aspects of ambient networking are discussed with respect to if current trends in regulations are aligned with the idea of ambient networking and to what extent competition is supported.
