Apparatus and method for controlling linear compressor

A control device of a linear compressor and a control method thereof are provided to adjust the cooling function by regulating trigger signals allowed to a triac according to dislocation of a motor and phase difference of electric current. A control device of a linear compressor(710) for generating the cooling force by reciprocating a piston by rotation of a motor receiving alternating current through a triac comprises a control unit(750) pulling or slowing trigger signals corresponding to a sucking step or a compressing step to the triac to move a central point of reciprocation of the piston at a resonance point when the phase difference of electric current and dislocation of the motor is out of a set range; an electric current zero-crossing detecting unit(720) sensing zero-crossing of electric current allowed to the motor; a position detecting unit(730) sensing dislocation of the motor; a resonance point judging unit(740) outputting information about the current zero-crossing and phase difference; and a load judging unit(760) outputting information about loads to judge the load according to the phase difference.
