Abstract : Pippenger's model for synchronous protocols that resolve conflicts among message transmissions on a multiple-access broadcast channel is extended to the case where the transmission times depend on the outcome of the transmissions. An information theoretic method is used to provide new bounds on the utilization of the channel.
